This work started as something funny and turned into a bit of a headache as I had to port the code from Processing to p5.js to make it visible in motion. It’s using the MemoryDot algorithm introduced by Yu Zhang and Mathias Funk in their Coding Art book.
By clicking on the screen you can take a snapshot picture and I hope you not only have a lot of good resolutions for the New Year, you are also able to stick to it seriously. …and be a bit patient, generative Art takes some time to evolve.
Bias is a disproportionate weight in favor of or against an idea or thing, usually in a way that is closed-minded, prejudicial, or unfair. Biases can be innate or learned. People may develop biases for or against an individual, a group, or a belief. In science and engineering, a bias is a systematic error. Statistical bias results from an unfair sampling of a population, or from an estimation process that does not give accurate results on average. (Wikipedia)

Actually there is no gray in these pictures, there are just many black circles of different sizes drawn on a white canvas. Overlapping circles form a variety of interesting patterns that our eyes recognize as gray. Original file size is 10.000 x 10.000 pixels, where this is more visible as per the below image section example.

On October 23rd, 2022, climate activists of „Last Generation“ threw mashed potatoes at the famous Monet painting „Les Meules“ in the Barbarini museum in Potsdam. The painting was auctioned by Sothebys in 2019 for an astonishing 110 Million Dollars and is owned by Hasso Plattner, one of the founders of SAP. So what has this action to do with climate crisis was my first thought, but after watching the video of the activists the punchline change quite a bit into “What is worth more, art or life?” I found this question very irritating, is this even a valid question at all?
